Veteran Student Services
Enrollment Verification
Students must submit an Enrollment Verification (EV) form every term they want to use education benefits. This applies to all students using veteran, in-service military, or military-connected benefits.
Things to consider:
- The LBCC Veterans Office will only certify the courses listed on the EV form. If you make changes to your enrollment, please submit a new form.
- Courses will only be certified if the student has completed the Veterans Office Entrance form
- Completion of the EV form does not guarantee coverage by benefits. Only courses that apply toward the major you have on file will be certified.
- If you have questions about your specific benefits please contact the Veterans Office at vetsoffice@linnbenton.edu.
If you are a Military Connected Spouse or Dependent student who is using the Tuition
Waiver you must complete the application for that benefit every term.
When enrolling in courses, be aware that VA Federal GI Bill® benefits will only cover courses that apply toward your current major. If you have questions about this,
please reach out to the Veterans Office.
OSU as Home School:
You are able to use VA Federal GI Bill® benefits while attending multiple schools. Most often, LBCC students will also enroll at Oregon State University or OSU students will enroll at LBCC.
If you are seeking a degree from OSU and need to have courses at LBCC certified as the guest school, you will need to complete the Oregon State University Parent School Letter via DocuSign. You will login to DocuSign using your ONID credentials to fill out and sign your portion of the form.
Other Schools as Home School:
If LBCC is not the school where you are seeking your degree, then you will need to get your home school to send a Parent School Letter (PSL) to the Veterans Office. Please contact the Veterans Office at your home school to see about their process.
LBCC as Home School:
If LBCC is the school where you are seeking your degree, please contact the Veterans Office (vetsoffice@linnbenton.edu).
VA Federal GI Bill® Benefits:
- Only covers courses that apply toward your current major
- If you need a course below the 100 level, the VA will only cover it if the course is taken in person or as a hybrid course
- Chapter 31 Exception: VA Counselor may approve courses outside of a student’s major if the course applies toward their employment goals.
In-Service Military Benefits:
- Tuition Assistance is different for every branch of the military. Make sure to check with your ESO regarding specific requirements.
- Students using ArmyIgnitED must have an approved degree plan uploaded to their ArmyIgnitED account and should follow that plan.
As part of the certification process, the SCO reviews all enrollment verification forms to make sure that courses are covered by the education benefits a student is using.
- When selecting courses for Summer be aware that LBCC offers both 10-week and 5-week courses.
- If you want to receive the full MHA throughout the Summer term you must be enrolled full-time throughout the summer.

then they are considered full time for those 5 weeks and not enrolled for the second

If a student is enrolled in two 3 credit courses that run during the entire 10-week term they are considered half-time for those courses. If the student then adds another 3 credit course that is 5-weeks long, that course is also considered ½ time. This makes the student full-time during the 5-week course but half-time during the second 5-weeks of the term.
