Diesel Technicians repair and maintain heavy equipment engines and powertrains used in construction & forestry equipment, trucks, busses, marine, locomotives, generators, and the equipment used in highway construction, logging, and farming. Some technicians work for companies that maintain their own vehicles; in these jobs, technicians spend most of their time doing preventative maintenance tasks that will help prevent future problems.

Graduates of this program can also pursue opportunities in the service departments of distributors and dealers, bus lines and railways, trucking and marine industries, schools, electric power plants, local industries and state and federal government departments.
