VIP Registration

Event posterRegister early so you can get the classes you need at the times you want and enjoy your summer break without having to worry about your fall schedule.

What? Early Registration for Fall 2024!  Register for all the best classes a whole four months before the term starts, even if you have holds on your account!

Who? YOU! You are a VIP! All LBCC students who are currently enrolled in classes are VIPs in our book.

When? Wednesday, May 15, starting at 7:00am. Guided registration assistance can be found in the First Resort (first floor, Takena Hall) from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Where? Online! Login to your WebRunner from the comfort of your home or swing by the First Resort for in person registration troubleshooting. After finishing, get the VIP treatment at the Commons with food, fun, and games!

Why? Register ahead of time for your ideal schedule so you don’t have to worry about it over summer break. Doing so not only makes your schedule perfect by giving you first pick at classes before they fill up, it also automatically enters you into a drawing to win up to a 12-credit tuition waiver* for the Fall 2024 term!

Your VIP Registration Checklist

Let us help you check important items off your to-do list like seeing your advisor, getting your financial aid in order, checking your degree progress, and planning the perfect schedule.

Step 1: Schedule with Your Advisor

With VIP Registration on May 15, it's important to know which classes you'll need in the fall. If you already have an up-to-date education plan, great job! If you don't, it's time to make an appointment with your advisor.

Learn how to find and schedule with your advisor.

Step 2: Review Your Degree Plan

Review the plan you made with your advisor in Degreeworks and monitor your academic progress toward degree completion. View what you need to take, what you’ve already taken, and what’s left.

Learn how to access and use Degreeworks.

Step 3: Get Your Financial Aid in Order

It’s never a laughing matter when money gets funny in college. Beat the stress of this by submitting your FAFSA application well before the priority deadline for fall term.

Learn how to apply.

Step 4: Understand Your Course Options

There’s no one right way to take a class. Some students prefer in-person, others prefer remote. The important thing is to understand your options and make the choice that is right for you. Make sure you understand the difference between online, virtual, hybrid, in-person, and flexible delivery modes (and how to identify them when registering).

Check out our Delivery Modes Guide.

Step 5: Create Your Ideal Schedule

Student Scheduler allows you to design your schedule based on your other time commitments, course needs, and preferred delivery modes. Then, on registration day, simply go to the Plans tab in your WebRunner Registration and click “Submit.” Here’s a video demo of Student Scheduler in action.

You can get started on planning your courses as soon as the fall schedule of classes is finalized on May 13.

Step 6: Register for Fall Term on VIP Registration Day!

Use the Registration Toolkit to learn how to register and to troubleshoot issues. Reminder: always check your schedule after you register to be sure your registration is finalized.

Need help on registration day? Student Ambassadors in the First Resort are available by email, phone, and the drop-in Zoom room. Click here for details and contact information.

IMPORTANT: if you still owe spring term tuition, you will be able to register for fall classes on VIP Registration day but you will be dropped from your summer and fall classes if your spring tuition isn’t paid by the final deadline. See payment deadlines here.

VIP Registration FAQs

Where do I register on VIP Registration Day?

On WebRunner, just like your regular registration! If you’re unsure about how to register on WebRunner, you can get help from the First Resort (student support center).

Do I have to see an advisor to register on VIP Registration Day?

It is not required but it is highly recommended so you can stay on-track to graduate. Learn how to find your advisor’s name and schedule an appointment.

What if I need help registering?

First, check out our Registration Toolkit. Or, if you’d like human help, contact the First Resort (student support center).

Can I register on VIP Registration Day if I still owe money from a previous term?

If you still owe spring tuition, yes.
If you owe tuition from a previous term, no.

Financial holds (also called “payment holds”) are from unpaid, past-due bills. If you have unpaid tuition or fees from winter term or previous, you will have a hold that will prevent you from registering on VIP Registration Day.

If you have unpaid tuition from spring, you will be able to register until week 9 of spring term. Remember that you will eventually be dropped from your fall courses if the bill remains unpaid. View payment deadlines here. You can check for holds in WebRunner under “Student Accounts” > “View Holds.”

Can I learn more about the tuition waiver?

In order to be eligible for the tuition waiver, students must:

  • Register for at least nine credits at LBCC for Fall 2024; and
  • Register on VIP Registration Day (May 15) or Veteran’s Priority (May 14) to be included in the drawing.

Winners will be randomly selected and contacted on May 17. Winners have the choice to accept or decline the tuition waiver prize. The waiver is applicable up to 12 credits of tuition only for LBCC courses offered in Fall 2024. The tuition waiver will be applied after the add/drop deadline in the Fall 2023 term. Tuition waivers are not refundable or transferable to other individuals or to other terms. Winners are encouraged to check how the prize may affect their financial aid if aid is received prior to utilizing the tuition waiver.

I am a high school student who takes classes on the LBCC campuses. Can I participate?

You may be eligible to participate but must meet with your LBCC advisor first. Contact Brenda Yahraes for more information.

What if I want to register for a “Signature Only” class?

You will still need to get your instructor's signature for this. Email the instructor in advance of VIP Registration day and request a “Registration Override”. If granted, this will give you permission to register for the class.

What if I want to register for a class with a waitlist?

For courses with waitlists, VIP Registration is no different than any other registration period.. If you get on the waitlist and an enrolled student drops, you will receive an email notification to enroll on WebRunner within 48 hours. You must act quickly if you want the spot! Here’s our Waitlist Guide.

Tip: If you are still on the waitlist by the first day of class, attend the class in case an enrolled student drops or does not attend. If a seat opens up at this point, you will need an instructor signature to register (because you are technically registering late).

What if I register on VIP Registration Day but change my mind about my schedule or courses?

Priority Registration for continuing, degree-seeking students begins the day following VIP Registration. Depending on how many credits you have, you may need to wait for your priority registration time slot (see academic calendar) to make any changes.

What if I want to register for ALP?

If you would like to register for ALP (special paired sections of WR 115 & WR 121 totaling 6 Writing credits), it is best to get this process started before VIP Registration so that you can build your schedule around it.

The decision to take ALP is a decision that should be made with your current writing instructor.

What if I’m a veteran?

Identified veterans may register one day ahead of VIP Registration Day! Check your LBCC email for details on how to register early. If you did not disclose your veteran status on your LBCC application and you have not received information about veteran’s priority registration, contact the Admissions office.

What is a Registration Hold?

A Registration Hold freezes your registration activity and stops you from adding or dropping classes. A student can get a registration hold for a variety of reasons.

To view your holds, go to WebRunner> Registration> Register:Add/Drop Classes> Prepare for Registration. If you have a hold, there will be a phone number listed. Call this number for instructions on how to resolve or lift the hold.

For general information about registration holds, check out our Registration Holds Guide.

I'm experiencing financial hardship. What are my options?

Many students end up with a Registration Hold due to financial hardship. If you are experiencing financial distress, contact the Roadrunner Resource Center for information about basic needs and student emergency grants.

If you have a financial hold because of an issue with your Federal Financial Aid (via the FAFSA) or veteran’s benefits, please contact the Financial Aid Office. Also, check your WebRunner account for outstanding financial aid documentation that may be stalling your award.

How do I pay a bill on my Student Account?

You can pay your bill (account balance) via one of the following methods:

  • Online in your WebRunner “Student Accounts” tab.
  • Over the phone at 541-917-4312.
  • By mailing us at:
    LBCC Business Office
    6500 Pacific Blvd. SW
    Albany, OR 97321

If VIP Registration is for fall, when is summer registration?

Priority registration for summer 2024 begins on May 6 (or May 2 for identified veterans). Check the academic calendar for time slots and details.

If you’d like to have Financial Aid cover your summer courses, you need to first submit your FAFSA for the 2023-2024 year and then submit the additional “Revision Request Form”, found on the Financial Aid Documents page
