Nursing Assistant
Degree & Certificate Options
This 155 hour training course is approved by the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN). It consists of 80 hours classroom and skills lab and 75 hours of clinical in a long-term care facility. The clinical portion of this course is direct patient care, applying all of the technical skills from a didactic teaching method.
Course subjects include: interpersonal skills and communication, growth and development
throughout the life cycle, cultural aspects, legal and ethical aspects, medical and
nursing terminology, general patient care; patient bathing, taking and recording vital
signs, feeding patients, infection control, and caring for patient's personal needs.
Nursing Assistant Level 1
This program offers an online learning course, textbook and lecture material as well as live skills labs and clinicals in direct patient care.
