Linn Benton Community College Inks New Recruits
On April 14th, 44 new students committed to pursuing their technical education degree at Linn-Benton Community College, during the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) Letter of Intent Signing Day. The community was invited to watch the virtual live-streamed event on Thursday. You can rewatch the event here.
The virtual signing day ceremony is designed to honor students who are entering a technical field and to emphasize the importance of their career choice. On the day of the event, high school students were celebrated by their friends and families, college faculty and staff, industry partners and potential employers.
“By signing our incoming students to Letters of Intent, we’re telling them that we’ve reserved a place for them, and we want them,” said Amy Burbee, LBCC Cooperative Work Experience Coordinator. “Technical education will prepare them for a strong career. Industry leaders are excited about this opportunity because it validates the student and provides an opportunity for industry representatives to meet these future workers.”
