Linn-Benton Community College Appoints Stacie Wyss-Schoenborn to the Board of Education
The Linn-Benton Community College Board of Education appointed Stacie Wyss-Schoenborn of Albany as the board representative for Zone 2-3A at its meeting on November 16. Wyss-Schoenborn will serve on the board through June 30, 2023 and will have the option to run in the May 2023 special district elections to fulfill the remainder of this zone’s term, which ends June 30, 2025.
“It was an incredible honor to have four outstanding candidates for the vacant seat on the board,” said LBCC Board of Education Chair Kristin Adams. “That is a true testimony to the impact LBCC is having in our communities. Stacie's connection to the business community and her impeccable financial background will fill a void we found ourselves in with Jim Merryman's departure. We're excited for the experience she brings and we look forward to working with her.”
Wyss-Schoenborn has served on the LBCC Foundation Board since 2017. In addition to her work with LBCC, she is the President and CEO of Central Willamette Credit Union, Chair of the Albany Chamber of Commerce, and Vice President of the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation.
“I’m humbled to have been selected to serve on LBCC’s Board of Education filling zone 2-3A,” said Wyss-Schoenborn. “Over the last five years, while serving on the LBCC Foundation Board, I’ve seen firsthand the commitment to education for all and its benefits to our county. I am looking forward to working with this excellent Board team.”
Wyss-Schoenborn replaces Jim Merryman, who served the college for many years and resigned early this year.
