Four Students Chosen for OCCA All Academic Team
Four students at Linn-Benton Community College were named to the Oregon Community College Association All Oregon Academic Team.
Josh Barrett from Tillamook, Erika Iizuka, from Saitama, Japan, Joe Moore from Corvallis,
and Gary Tolentino from Jefferson were honored by Governor Kate Brown at the State
Capitol April 26.
Each student received a plaque from the OCCA and a scholarship to the university they
plan to attend if completing a bachelor’s degree.
Barrett will graduate in June with his associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy
Assistant.
Iizuka will graduate in June with an associate degree Computer and Information Sciences
and Support Services, and will transfer to Oregon State University to complete her
bachelor’s degree.
Moore will graduate in June with an associate’s degree in Computer Aided Design and
Drafting, and will transfer to a university to complete his bachelor’s degree.
Tolentino will graduate in June with an associate’s degree in Business Management.
The Oregon Community College Association, in partnership with Phi Theta Kappa, yearly
recognizes outstanding students from Oregon’s 17 community colleges through the All-Oregon
Academic Team awards. Students selected become eligible for more than $350,000 in
Coca-Cola Foundation and USA Today scholarships.
